The big decision has finally been made and your company has decided to upgrade your CAD tools…hooray! But with this decision comes the question of what to do with all the legacy data….not so fun.  However, you can overcome your data migration challenges with SOLIDWORKS data migration tools.

SOLIDWORKS provides users with useful tools that make moving your legacy design data easy.  They even make this information available via videos to better help you understand the tools available and their unique benefits:

  • 3DInterconnect – enables you to leverage all of your existing designs seamlessly, supporting a variety of formats including, Autodesk Inventor®, PTC Creo®, Siemens NX™ and Solid Edge™. Simply insert these existing components into your SOLIDWORKS assemblies with no translation required.
  • FeatureWorks – this powerful tool in SOLIDWORKS allows you to add intelligent parametric features quickly, either by choosing them specifically, or allowing FeatureWorks to add them automatically.
  • Direct Edit – these tools enable you to continue making changes to your existing components and manipulate and edit any file, regardless of whether they were opened using 3D Interconnect or imported from other sources.
  • SOLIDWORKS PDM – allows you to immediately start benefiting from all of your existing work, such as searching within SOLIDWORKS and Windows Explorer.

Click here to watch these videos and see how SOLIDWORKS provides the tools you need to migrate your design data easily so you can start taking advantage of all that SOLIDWORKS has to offer.
