Day One Recap: 3DEXPERIENCE World 2022

In case you were not able to join us virtually for 3DEXPERIENCE World 2022, no worries!  You can always catch up on the action by watching the on-demand recording of each day’s general sessions, which will be available on the Dassault Systèmes  YouTube channel.

The theme of day one’s general session was “From Things to Sustainable Life | Strategy & Direction.”  Former SOLIDWORKS CEO (spoiler alert) Gian Paolo Bassi kicked things off by sharing our collective objective for this event: to share the technologies and trends that we believe will shape the future of engineering, the way we work, and what will help innovators all over the world invent and reinvent the things we need and want to live our lives. He also spoke of the SOLIDWORKS mission to lower the barrier of access to science and technology, so our users—both at large companies and small startups—can work to solve the big problems both we and future generations are facing.

Day Two Recap: 3DEXPERIENCE World 2022

Day two’s general session was all about technology. Florance Hu-Aubigny introduced an R&D team roundtable featuring experts in design, simulation, and collaboration. The R&D team was joined by 3DEXPEREINCE Works users NASKA robotics, Exovolar, and Smartflyer to discuss their experiences with connected SOLIDWORKS tools.

Dr. Tobias Brett of NASKA robotics discussed his team’s need to work remotely. Brower-based design solutions, such as those available in the SOLIDWORKS Cloud offer, enabled his team to collaborate from anywhere and streamline development with connected tools.

Day Three Recap: 3DEXPERIENCE World 2022

Day three’s general session “From Connections to Relationships / Community” focused on just that: our talented community of users. Suchit Jain, vice president of Strategy and Business Development at DS SOLIDWORKS, spoke of the rapidly growing SOLIDWORKS user ecosystem, 6 million+ designers, engineers, students, entrepreneurs, makers—all designing and making many of the things we see around us. SOLIDWORKS truly is everywhere.

Next up we saw several examples of amazing futuristic technologies being developed by SOLIDWORKS users across the globe. Mars Auto is building autonomous trucks to fully automate long-haul trucking; Dexai is empowering the kitchen of the future, in which robots will be as common as microwaves and dishwashers; Kolibri working to make gene therapy manufacturing more efficient and cost-effective; and Gravity Industries enabling anyone to experience the thrill of human flight with its line of jet packs.

Suchit reminded the audience that we are all on a journey together to empower and provide all the tools necessary for the SOLIDWORKS community of users to this “Future of Everything.” Nothing illustrates that point better than the Maker program.
