Moving Beyond 3D Printing Prototypes and Trinkets – Way Beyond with Markforged!

We’re excited to announce that we have also added Markforged as a partner.  Markforged 3D printers are the only printers that embed continuous carbon fiber into printed nylon for composites with the strength of metal. Using Markforged 3D printers, you can print anything from prototypes to production parts such as prosthetic devices and assistive technologies, robotics applications, jigs, fixtures, and industrial tooling ž

According to Markforged, they started the company with a vision to empower engineers to create strong-as-metal parts using the right materials – and to remove all the barriers between design and a final product. Their website says, “We are overturning not only the 3D printing industry, but also many traditional manufacturing methods giving our customers unprecedented cost, time and efficiency savings.”

Markforged products really do move us beyond 3D printing prototypes and trinkets. For example, one of their customers uses Markforged 3D printers to cost-effectively make one-off custom products that improve efficiency for media companies. Another customer needed an inexpensive prototyping tool whose parts could match the strength of machined aluminum. They found their answer with a Markforged printer, reducing the prototyping time from weeks to days and the weight of a prototype by half a pound.
